KidFest/TeenFest provides alternative entertainment or the entire family simultaneously during thekidfest KwanzaaFest weekend. KidFest/TeenFest has become a favorite family event, drawing thousands of parents and children each year.  While spending the day with your kids, you can visit companies and organizations that cater to local families.

Kidfest/TeenFest also features:

contestFor the past 8 years, KwanzaaFest has offered educational contests for youths to participate. The purpose of the Photo/Poster/Poetry Contest promoted cultural awareness and expression through creative writing and artistic design.  Elementary, Middle and High School students competed for prizes from 13 participating cities including Carrollton/Farmers Branch, Coppell, Cedar Hill, Dallas, Desoto, Duncanville, Garland, Grand Prairie, Irving, Lancaster, Mesquite, Richardson, and Plano.

Contestants are judged by a panel of artists, educators, columnists. Prizes are awarded in each category.  The winners are recognized during the KwanzaaFest VIP Reception at the African American Museum.

NEW!! Elementary Hip Hop Competition - Ages 5-12. Prizes will be awarded to 1st and 2nd place team winners. Information fortcoming.

NEW!! TeenFest - This year, KwanzaaFest will bring a Debate Competition between the 13 participating cities and their respected High Schools whose top students(team) will debate on a vareity of cultural and liberating topics affecting us today. The competition will begin this fall, and the winning teams from the finalist schools will compete during KwanzaaFest for a CASH prize! Please sign your school up today.
